THE MIND BEHIND THE MEDIA
I knew from a very young age that television and media would always play an important part in my life. I remember finding the Blue Peter Book of Television one day whilst helping my grandparents clear out their attic and I was fascinated by the broadcasting process. Published in the 60s, the information in the book was dated. However, this only fueled my interest in how television had evolved going into the millennium and the 24-hour world we now live in.

It took over a decade from that initial flame being lit to realise that television was a career I could and wanted to persuit. When deciding on a degree in 2016, I knew media was my field of interest, but the specialty within such a broad and expansive industry was still very unclear to me. I chose to do Multimedia Broadcast Journalism at the University of Brighton - of which I graduated in 2020 with First Class honours. This degree equipt me with a vast and diverse skill set and aided me in concluding that I wanted to work within broadcast production.

I aim to create media that comes from the heart, which reflects back into the audience's viewing experiance. In the modern age, the defention of television and our viewing habits are forever changing. With this in mind, the content we are creating must keep up with the consumer. What was yesterday's top trend is tomorrow's throwback. Creating something memorable that will stick with the modern viewer requires passion and drive, somthing i pride myself on putting 110% of into every project. I’m never afraid to tackle any project or find new, creative ways to come up with something fresh and original.

I have taught Ella in all her practice modules for the course of her degree, and was her course leader for her third year. I have always found Ella to be intelligent and dedicated to the task at hand. She is full of enthusiasm and buzzing with ideas. Ella is creative and has challenged herself in her assessments and received a First Class degree as a result. She is an excellent TV presenter and video editor, with a clear fluid presentation style. She is engaging to watch and I hope she will pursue a career on screen as she has a natural aptitude for it.
